The practice does not provide letters, certificates or forms confirming that a patient is fit to take part in sporting events, physical challenges or similar activities.
This includes, but is not limited to, marathons, triathlons, cycling events, charity challenges, diving, gym or fitness activities, adventure activities and extreme sports.
These requests are outside the scope of NHS general practice and may require a specific private medical assessment, specialist knowledge of the activity, and appropriate indemnity arrangements.
If an event organiser, school, employer, club or other organisation requires medical confirmation, please contact them directly to ask what evidence they need and who is able to provide it. You may need to arrange this through a private GP, occupational health provider, sports medicine doctor or another suitably qualified provider.
Where appropriate, patients can access factual information from their medical record, such as medication lists or medical history, via the NHS App or by requesting access to their records. However, the practice cannot certify that a patient is fit to participate in a specific activity or event.
Examples of services that may be able to help in the Cambridge area are listed below for information only. The practice does not recommend, endorse or have any formal arrangement with these providers. Patients should contact the provider directly before booking to confirm that they are able to complete the specific assessment, form, letter or certificate required.
