Trumpington Street Medical Practice is committed to maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients, staff and visitors. We have arrangements in place to prevent, detect and control the risk of infection in line with national guidance for primary medical care.
Our Infection Prevention and Control Lead is: Dr Barbara Bull (Senior GP Partner)
The practice maintains:
- an infection prevention and control policy
- cleaning and decontamination procedures
- staff training in infection prevention and control
- risk assessment and audit processes
- arrangements for responding to infection incidents and outbreaks
- systems to support appropriate antimicrobial prescribing and stewardship
We review our infection prevention and control arrangements regularly and produce an annual statement summarising:
- any significant infection events and actions taken
- audits completed and improvements made
- risk assessments undertaken
- staff training completed
- policy reviews and updates
- antimicrobial stewardship activity
