Patient service administrator / receptionist

Trumpington Street Medical Practice is looking for a friendly, organised and dependable Patient Service Administrator / Receptionist to join our reception team.

This is a varied, patient-facing role in a busy Cambridge GP practice. The main focus of the role will be reception duties, supporting patients, clinicians and colleagues with the smooth running of the practice.

About the role

You will be one of the first points of contact for patients, both face to face and by telephone. The role will involve helping patients with appointments, queries and general practice administration, while ensuring they receive a professional and supportive service.

Duties will include:

  • Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice
  • Answering telephone calls and dealing with patient enquiries
  • Booking, cancelling and managing appointments
  • Supporting patients with general queries and signposting them appropriately
  • Working with the wider reception and administration team
  • Helping with day-to-day practice administration
  • Maintaining confidentiality and following practice procedures

About you

You do not need previous NHS experience, although experience in reception, customer service or healthcare would be helpful.

Pay will be dependent on experience.

Hours

37 hours per week across 4 days
